Little Flashies - A Coffin Cuppa

This idea sort of popped up when I was on my way to work. A cup in the shape of a coffin... (the moon is influenced by 'Soul Eater' manga XD) Didn't know what to use for this idea, so yeap, did it with what the office has - Flash 8. Somehow, after this idea came another idea, a rather evil one. Since I had time in my hands during work... why not do more? Not that I have no work at work, but most of the time what I am tasked to do, the bulk was done within a week, followed by little checks and refinements, which I have another week for it. So.... there. Just to keep me awake from the repetitive checkings. Tee hee~

Besides, I doubt I have time to do this in the days to come. The head told me I will be back into the coloring team, since one of the colorist is leaving tomorrow. It wasn't happy news to me, neither sad. Maybe I got numb from all these pushing around. At the end, everything is still under the same roof. Just hope by the time I leave, I would still have the motivation to carry on what I like.

Whew, tot the deadline is over, but they extended it! Ah well...... heh, the three nights of chionging is still worth the excitement, I suppose. XD Yeap, me decided to join the contest. Not for the prize (what the hell is the @ club anyways? The info was vague!), the thought of making the logo nudged my lazy brain when I read through the contest details... Got a simple idea in mind and decided to go ahead with it.



Yea..that's the first logo I thought of. Didn't quite look as good as I wanted it to be. It appeared more 'sunshine- beach- clubhousey' more than the 'exploded, surprise, young' sort... So...didn't expand on the idea to the card and tried to think of another one.



Quite like it, so went ahead with it to the card.



Ah well, that's about it :D (Hmm....I wonder if there's something wrong with my monitor.... The colors seem a bit too saturated >_< And when I uploaded it to blogger, it goes even more haywire....)

From the movies (Memoirs of a Geisha)

Done last night while doing my unofficial weekend studies! Yea, I've been trying to get back on track by making myself draw and paint some stuff at least a once a week, and if possible, everyday. Didn't know where to start, cos there are just so many things i need to improve on. Anatomy, light and shade, anime, watercoloring ...arggghhh!! Just too many!!! So.... just dig into the pile of 'First' magazines that I borrowed from my aunt and began sketching faces. The magazine I came across first had 'Memoirs of the Geisha' in the spotlight. Ah well, nice pretty asian girls... draw! Saw a pic of Zhang Ziyi's Sayuri on the feature page.... Paint!! Kimono is such a fun challenge for painting!!(no wonder some mangakas love to feature them...)

Opening of another hell gate... not gonna miss it!

Nono, it's not a movie. It's just the registration for ntu's media design course... Anyways.... having been through nyp's, it isn't hard for me to imagine what ntu's will be like, considering it's a relatively new course and nyp was part of the team when they are considering the modules to be taught (I heard..) The adm forum further confirmed my thoughts. But heck, I'm still gonna register.

Somehow, the importance of a degree to this country overuled the unnescessity of a degree to this field for me. There's no gaurantee that I will be in it in the long run, but staying in singapore is a gauranteed yea. So there.... for a piece of paper. T.T Ah well... really stupid. Meanwhile, I wanna try building up my skills a bit more. There are many things that a student can do that a worker can't.
Seeing HY running around doing her own sketching around the country has quite motivated me to pick up my own stuff and do my own little studies.

Okie! enough rambles. Below is just a little sequence from the 3 minute movie I did for the ntu submission. Not impressive for an aftereffects project, but enough to get my point through, i guess...



That's just the first part, but the entire story format quite goes along that line, an angel 'reporting' prayers while God listen and give (the 'God as a cloud with an occasional hand popping out' idea is from the many comics that Windy has been dumping me with.

As for the portfolio.... I did this one first, which set the style for the movie. Aiming for a simple layout that don't take too much of the attention and doesn't look too pro or too amatuerish. :p







... I realised I haven't draw much these times.

As for the essay.... i hate that one. Crap and crap and crap :x But how to crap without making people think u are bullshitting.... >_< It's a skill I lack nia...
