...One day, Len got really really bored. She didn't want post her works on DA. Neither does she wanna post in FAC. She just want a quiet space for herself. Somewhere where no one will comment or spy on. So she made this :P

A Little Prayer

Whew... finally uplodaed this on youtube to put it here. It's the video requirement of the portfolio entry submitted to get into ADM. We have to state our reasons to be accepted into the school, so here goes mine... Coming back to look at it feels pretty silly, lol... Anyways, school life is quite manageable for now... Hope it continues this way :)

Archiving archiving and a visit!

Have been trying to make myself do work these days... There's much to do, yet, I'm starting to get that lazy bug disease, especially since it's gonna be a long weekend till tomorrow. Made myself archive as much drawings as possible for the end of semester portfolio review and got bored along the way, so did a small painting in photoshop (which I was using to fine tune my archived drawings).

I realised I have a way with doing eyes for whatever subject that has them, lol... Anatomy problems again.. But that's not the main thing. I found myself unaccustomed to using photoshop to do paintings from scratch. I got lost, not knowing where I should head. After about an hour of painting, Dor came and I showed her this painting. She tried to amend it for me, and I thought it looked pretty solid after the amending.

Seeing her use photoshop is like..... O_O..... Oh man.. I've lots to catch up with! She shared some tips with me, most of it seems like an application of traditional methods onto the digital platform. Maybe I should start thinking of photoshop like I'm using watercolors... then again, it takes some more time to get used to not being able to turn your canvas the way you want it to be... Argh...

And yay! Might be participating in EOY this year, some new experience there, I guess I'd better start working my creative gears...

Waiting for.... Elmo!

XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD Totally OMG when I saw this one....

Oh man... I so agree with that tree there XDXDXD For those who have seen the real thing before, have a nice time reminiscing the painful moments of 'Waiting for Godot'.... Yea, what the hell. XD

Still loved this part, for reasons unknown, but time will tell. XDXDXDXDXD

Drawing and sculpting...

Yea, bizarre. That's a self potrait yea... looking pretty fat there XD It's a homework issued today, but seeing the busy week ahead, I decided to chiong it after literature lecture. Tried to play with the perspective here, but guess it turned up pretty pyschotic.... must have been the pose and colors... I've never used such highly contrasting, bright colors before (the pastel set limited my color choice...forcing me to use this palette).

And yes! The sculpture!

I've quite finished it last saturday. Turned out pretty good, I feel.

Though upon closer observation, there are still some mistakes that could be corrected, but somehow, I decided to leave it as it is. First attempt on something this real, so keep it that way, the mistakes of the first time.

And yup, if you've guessed it, the guy I'm sculpting is Sir Ian Mckellen. ;)

Sculpture...

Rushing to get this done asap.... Yea, it's an assignment. Have been toiling over it for sometime, and today, just spent 10 hrs standing and getting as much done as possible..... Amended the chin, nose, added ears, piled up more for the forehead, added some wrinkles, tried making him look thinner....

He still looks fat...

and constipated...

This looks more like it...

Now...who is this old man.... some old celebrity XD (guess guess!)

4D Assignment - Derive

Yeap, this was for a school assignment. We have to go out, take photos and use the images to tell a story. Mine was focused on an indian temple, an abstract motion graphics piece. Kind of like someone's experience in an indian temple.

It was a 3 weeks project, but ah well, all was pushed out in the last two days. Went to an indian temple to take photos again, and yea, the statues and all kind of scares me a bit. However, unlike my initial overwhelmed impression, it wasn't so bad. Kids were running around freely in the temple and adults were sitting on the floor, chatting to each other. It's like a home, unlike the church where everyone is solemn and disciplined in front of the cross. There was an old man who came up to me to talk about the religion too! (Haha, thought I was a burmese.... ah well...)

Haven't stayed up so late for an assignment... guess it's starting to get serious.

Week 9 over!

It's been 9 weeks since I started school now.... Yeap, just less than 9 weeks and it's gonna be sem break! Have been thinking of flying to australia to meet my sis during that period... ;p before I can't. Spent the night yesterday to read up on the university's system. Some parts make it feel like a chore, the need to gain certain points in order to graduate... I've been thinking what courses to go for in order to fufill that graduating criteria. Would I be able to balance out my time well? It frightens me sometimes... Anways, putting that aside. Currently slaving away on the assignments....

This was drawn yesterday. Together with three more classmates, we went down to school to complete the drawing assignment of life drawing. Well... I posed for one picture...(not nude of course..) about 45 minutes? Dunno, it went on fine at first. I was listening to my mp3 player... after about 6 songs, i started feeling the strain on my waist (yeah, I was lying down there, with my waist twisted, legs facing the side while body facing up). By the 7th song, i started wriggling my toes a bit, the 8th I asked if I could get up. When the last song (9th? 10?) ended (Orange-Range's 'SAYONARA'...) I couldn't stand it anymore and got up.

The after effects was terrible.... and I told them to forget about 1 hr poses, let's do 30 minutes... So the next one posing went up. She fell asleep there, but by that time, her arms were hurting badly too. I asked for a few more minutes extension to get in the shades, and finished it off. Asked if the other two wanna try~~ naah, we're hungry. So off to eat!

And yesh.... the numbness from the waist to the legs is still there even after lunch... T_T At least it didn't carried on till today....

Kampung burn burn...

Yeap, this is what that random 'burn burn burn' entry posted previously was for.... Was asked to do two burning scenes of a kampung village, but... i have no idea how the kampung look like. True, vaguely, one has an image of houses built with wood and dried leaves, a simple, typical idea of a kampung.. but how does it really look like? I've never lived in one nor have I went up to one with an eye for its detail... Went searching up the internet for the pictures, but guess it is never enough. Knowing that these were needed urgently, I tried to do out rough sketches of the place and went ahead with the coloring. Done with pastel... not something unfamiliar, but not something very familiar too.... haiz.... -_-

Yeap, there's no fire seen... cos fires are supposed to be animated.

These pictures are taken with the camera and colors adjusted in photoshop.... ah well. Heading back to school work now.....
